- Abstract:
- Goat Street, looking up into Lincoln School steps. Notice Government House Hill, and Barrack House with four steps. The enameled street lamp of early European design depicts fragile curvature of steel, braced to Cable & Wireless reinforced cement based street pole. The two houses in the foreground chronicle varying architetural styles, one being entirely wooden, the other having a brick/ stone masonry, with wooden residence on top. Lincoln School, now Jarvis Elementary School, was built with brick. The step-streets, are Danish adaptations to the hilly landscape of St. Thomas, V.I.
